The forum is being held in Yekaterinburg and is dedicated to leadership technologies for achieving national goals.

On November 27 and 28, the 9th All-Russian Strategic Development Forum "Cities of Russia: Leadership Technologies" is being held at the Yekaterinburg-EXPO site in Yekaterinburg. The event is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. It is being organized by the Yekaterinburg City Administration, the Center for Strategic Research Foundation, and the Union of Russian Cities. The "Cities of Russia" Forum has been held since 2016 and is the only regular event in the country dedicated to urban development. Every year, it brings together representatives of federal, regional, and municipal governments, development corporations, the business community, and urban planning experts. This year, the forum is attended by the heads of more than 75 cities from 30 Russian regions, with 85 events planned as part of the forum's business program.

A roundtable discussion, "City Public Spaces for the Creative Economy," was held on the first day. Developing infrastructure for creative industries is a priority for state policy in this economic sector. The practices of individual municipalities across the country demonstrate that urban public spaces can become "unique" platforms for the growth and development of creative industries.

Perm Mayor Eduard Sosnin addressed the experts with a report, "Public Spaces: Growth Points for the Creative Economy." In Perm Krai, the creative economy has been identified as one of six priority areas for socioeconomic development through 2035. The challenge of developing this sector is facing not only the region but also the city.

"Perm, a historically industrial center, has room for creative industries." "We see great potential for the development and growth of this sector alongside traditional industries," noted Eduard Sosnin.

On November 27, the Mayor of Perm spoke at a roundtable discussion on best urban practices for ecology and climate, presenting a report titled "Creating a Water-Green Framework for the City of Perm." Our city is the greenest in Russia with a population of over one million, making it "unique" in terms of its ecological balance and urban landscapes.

Eduard Sosnin shared with colleagues his experience implementing the "Green Ring" project, which unlocks the recreational potential of the city's key natural areas.

Perm also has a stand at the forum, presenting key projects: the "PermHere" mobile app, an interactive guide to landmarks, and the "Green Ring"—the city's ecological framework that not only creates a comfortable environment but also improves the microclimate.

On November 28, the Perm city administration organized a roundtable discussion titled "Urban Space: Who Are We Creating It For?" The roundtable featured the leaders of Tomsk, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, and Ufa, along with experts. Participants discussed practices for creating urban spaces that serve as focal points for residents, filling urban locations with an event program, engaging residents through initiatives, youth-focused cities, and examples of projects aimed at fostering a culture of public behavior.

Perm Mayor Eduard Sosnin presented the Perm administration's achievements in transforming urban public spaces, titled "Spaces Uniting the City: The Perm Experience":

"The unifying idea behind these transformations is the creation of a unified network of public spaces that engages residents in an active and fulfilling life. These are not just places for recreation, but focal points that bring people together and support active participation in the city's cultural and social life.

Urban space belongs to everyone, because residents determine its appearance and content, inspire transformations, and set the direction of development.

We create spaces that can meet the needs of all ages and the diverse interests of our residents. Together, we are building the very city we are proud of and want to return to again and again."

Perm Mayor Eduard Sosnin also met with the Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Yekaterinburg to discuss cooperation between Perm and Shymkent.
